When I want to make a scrapbook to remember a special event in my baby’s or niece’s life, I usually have more than enough pictures and “do-dads” to fill up the pages. The difficult part is trying to make each page unique and special, instead of looking like a generic pre-packaged book where I simply inserted my photos. One way I have found to make a truly special scrapbook is to use funny quotes about babies as a title or caption for the best photos in the spread. Here are some of my favorites, most of which work equally well as quotes about baby boys or girls.
“Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell, the name will carry.” ~Bill Cosby
If you can keep a straight face while listening to Bill Cosby, you probably aren’t a parent yet, as he can usually hit the nail on the head when describing children and all their quirks. I have used this quote when placing pictures of babies and children playing on their own, with no adults around, as if the photographer caught a moment where everyone was just waiting for trouble to happen. Of course, if your subject’s name ends in a vowel sound, it is a great idea to also write his or her name in large letters that carry across the page to illustrate the quote.
“In America there are two classes of travel – first class, and with children.” ~Robert Benchley
Obviously this quote is a great way to start a travel log, or for pictures of your babies and kids in an airport or even on a car trip. If you have a way to contrast the way single adults travel versus families, this quote works even better. For example, on one page place pictures of your family members without kids travelling to a family reunion in style, then on the next page place pictures of your over-packed, messy, loud car and disaster area hotel rooms.
Boy, n.: a noise with dirt on it. ~Not Your Average Dictionary
Because this quote is so short, it makes a great title for a page with pictures of some backyard fun in the mud.
It also works when instead of generic funny quotes about babies, you want to use it to contrast a baby boy’s behavior from that of a baby girl.
“Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.” ~Phyllis Diller
Not many of us take the time to stop and appreciate the mess in our house (or car, or garage, or backyard…) while it is being made, but if you happen to have some pictures of areas in your house looking like a tornado hit them, using this quote is a great way to display how carefree children are and how time passes so quickly. You can also compare pictures of your “model home” before kids came along to pictures of how things change when the baby arrives.
Another must before the baby arrives is setting up a gift registry. This is not only beneficial for the new parents who are going to find all of the new stuff that they need, but also helpful to friends and family who are searching for the perfect way to express their excitement for the new arrival. Right now Amazon is having a special drawing to win a $500 gift card every week.
All you have to do to enter is set up a registry for FREE.
This is an amazing promotion. it with all of the expectant families that you know!

This quote is great to use if you have a picture of the pregnant mommy to use in the invitation, because of course right now the baby is taking up all the space on her lap! Similarly, if you have baby pictures of the mom- or dad-to-be sitting on someone’s lap, this quote is a good way to get some smiles out of your invitees.
This is a heartfelt sentiment to use for any baby shower invitation, whether you are throwing a traditional or non-traditional shower. It will always fit in on a classic, elegant invitation. Everyone likes to be reminded of the sweet, angelic, brand-new qualities of babies, whether your guests have babies of their own, or grown children, or no children.
